Dr. Robert Skinner
A native of Olive Branch, MS, Dr. Skinner has practiced in DeSoto County since 2001. He received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi College and completed medical school at Kansas City University School of Medicine in 1998. He completed his residency in 2001 through the University of Mississippi Family Medicine Residency Program where he also served as Chief Resident. Board Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Skinner co-founded Family Medical Clinic of North Mississippi in 2003. With a long-time passion for preventing and treating cardiovascular disease he founded the Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Center in 2011. Dr. Skinner has completed a Masters course in Clinical Lipidology, as well as completing a preceptorship program in the Bale/Doneen Method for prevention of heart attacks, ischemic strokes and diabetes.
Dr. Amy R. Woods
Dr. Woods is a native of Olive Branch. She completed her undergraduate studies at Delta State University followed by medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. After completing an Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Woods served an additional year as a Chief Resident at UMMC. She was voted as Intern of the Year, Resident of the Year, and House Officer of the Year during her training. She is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and has served the MS Chapter of the ACP and the MS State Medical Association in numerous roles. Dr. Woods enjoys gardening, reading, and travel. She is married to Patrick Woods and they have 3 children.
Dr. Deanna Nabors
Dr. Nabors is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is a graduate of the University of Memphis and attended medical school at the University of Tennessee, Health Sciences Center. She went on to complete a Med-Peds residency at UT in Memphis. Dr. Nabors is married to Forest Nabors and has 3 children, Jackson, Kelley and Jessie. Her hobbies include reading, renovating houses and decorating, but her biggest joy is her faith, family and serving her patients.
Dr. Julie Carpenter
Dr. Carpenter, a board-certified Family Practice physician, has been practicing medicine in North Mississippi and the Memphis area since 2001. A native of West Tennessee, she received a B.S. in Biology from Christian Brothers University and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1998 with High Honors. While in medical school she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency in Family Practice through the University of Tennessee at St. Francis Hospital in 2001. Dr. Carpenter and her husband, Rick, have 2 children, Caroline and Graham. She is an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis where she enjoys playing French Horn in their orchestra.
In Memoriam – JERRY C. MCLARTY, FNP (May 14, 1968 – May 29, 2022)
A native of the Olive Branch area, Jerry has practiced in DeSoto County since 1998. He graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1991, received his BSN from Union University in 1994, and a Master of Science in Nursing, FNP, from Delta State University in 1998. He is Board Certified by the ANCC. Jerry has extensive nursing management experience in Emergency Medicine and has practiced as a Nurse Practitioner since 1998. Jerry and his wife Julie attend Central Church in Memphis. In his spare time, Jerry enjoys hunting and spending time with his family.
Nicole Payne, FNP
Nicole is a member of the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also an active member of Slayden Baptist Church. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband Ben Evans, and their son, Samson.
Shone Cook, FNP
Shone is a native Mississippian, born in Yazoo City and raised in Jackson, MS. He graduated from the University of Mississippi, Cum Laude, in 1996. Shone also served in the United States Navy for 4 years and received an honorable discharge. He attended Delta State University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program finishing first in his class and is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Shone is fluent in both English and Spanish. He is also certified through Cambridge University to Teach English as a foreign language. He is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau international honor society. His experience includes family practice, oncology and pediatrics. Shone is married to Susana and they have two children, Sean and Luke. They reside in Olive Branch.
Samantha Vickrey, FNP
A native of Germantown, TN, Samantha has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2015. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. She then moved home to the Memphis area and worked as a med-surg nurse at St. Francis Hospital. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2015 and has been practicing family medicine since. She is board certified though the AANP. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling. She also enjoys watching SEC football and is a huge Memphis Grizzlies fan.
Lauren Vanderburg, FNP
A native of Olive Branch, MS, Lauren has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2017. She graduated from Baptist College of Health Sciences in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and worked as an ER nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis. She received her Masters of Science in Nurse from the University of Memphis in 2017. Lauren is board certified through the AANP. She is married to Justin and they have one son, Grayson. In their spare time, they love cheering for the Ole Miss Rebels.
Jennifer Warren, FNP
A native of Texas, Jennifer has practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Desoto County since 2012. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baptist College of Health Sciences in 2008. After which she practiced as a registered nurse in labor and delivery and also cared for mothers with high risk pregnancies. She went on to pursue her Family Nurse Practitioner degree and earned a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Memphis in 2012. Jennifer is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association, and has been recognized as a Top Family Nurse Practitioner by America's Top Nurses. She has a passion for chronic disease management, preventive medicine and women's health. Jennifer is an active member of Desoto Hills Baptist Church and has been married to her husband, Tray, for almost 19 years. They have 4 children, Connor, Adalyn, Emerson, and Hadley Kate. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys running and mentoring other upcoming nurse practitioners.
Shannon Vinson, FNP
Shannon graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked as an emergency department RN before obtaining her Masters of Science in Nursing from Samford University in 2016. She continued working in the emergency department as a family nurse practitioner and ultimately found that her passion is chronic care management. She has been practicing in primary care since 2018. Shannon lives in Olive Branch with her husband, Craig, and 3 children: Oakleigh, Blair, and Hayes. She enjoys gardening, boating at the lake, and spending time with her family.
Jordan Tupper, PA
A native of Olive Branch, Jordan is a board certified Physician Assistant since 2020. She graduated from Baptist College with a Bachelors in Biomedical Science in 2015 and completed her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Bethel University. She is married to Tate Boyd and they have two dogs, Finn and Ziggy. In her spare time, Jordan enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time at the lake.
Mary Elizabeth Tullos, FNP
Mary Elizabeth is a native to the Memphis area and has lived in Olive Branch since 2008. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Mississippi College, a Masters in Nursing from Union University and is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Mary Elizabeth worked as an RN in the hospital on the internal medicine floor and in the adult ICU. She is married to Kevin Tullos. They have two daughters and attend Immanuel Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loves horseback riding, playing with her Basset hounds, cheering on her kids at their extracurricular activities, and vacationing at the beach.
